Executive Voting Visualization for SF Changes May 6, 2019 - November 1, 2019

I made a video I’d like to share: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bNAoiw44_GY

It shows the vote counts for each executive spell updated every 1000 block interval (about 4 hours) for stability fee changes in the new chief contract. The size of the circles is based on amount of MKR locked in chief. The darker of the blues on the bottom is the latest spell to be cast.

Here is the code: https://github.com/lixwhi/sf_vote_vis

Made another one for the change today from 5.5% to 5% SF and 100M to 120M debt ceiling: https://youtu.be/W7QhOGg2n_U

Love these things. Can you create the same viz with the dataset powering mkrgov.science? Would be cool to have some advanced visuals on that site.

I think I could. I would change some things like adding motion easing on vote transitions and clickable bubbles to go to that individual’s vote history page. I think the best way to do this would with https://d3js.org/

It would probably be best to wait until the v2 gov dashboard is up for a visualization like this to be added in the v3. I think we will have a better understanding of where plots like this would fit in relation to the other data on https://mkrgov.science/ by then.
